Module 1

Linear and Notan Design

In Module 1 we will take up elements of design that we covered in Drawing I. This is partially a review and partially building up from a foundation that we have already begun. We will explore linear design and how that translates to the concept of Notan. Then, we will create several mock advertising lay-outs. This will take the student through the process from initial concept, to sketch, to a formal design that could be used for an ad campaign. These exercises and projects are a preliminary practice for a career in graphic design.
